Wynne Thacher is a 5th through 8th humanities teacher at the Mountain School. She was raised in Northern Michigan and attended Bucknell University for her undergraduate degree. She received her BS in Elementary Education as well as her elementary teaching license in the state of Pennsylvania.

In the fall of 2006, Wynne moved to Telluride with the intention of spending a winter here teaching skiing before going back to school. One winter quickly turned into two full years in Telluride as she discovered the other three seasons had just as much to offer.

In the fall of 2008, Wynne went back to school for a Masters in Literacy Education. She attended Teachers College Columbia University in New York City and completed their literacy specialist program in July of 2009. She loved the city, but the mountains called her once again.

In her free time, Wynne likes to travel, ski, ice skate, sail, boat, and hike. She is thrilled to be living in Telluride with her husband, son, and new baby boy arriving this spring and to be a part of the Mountain School community.
