Lea Gibbs
Literacy and Learning Specialist
Lea Gibbs was born and raised in Boise, Idaho, where she developed her love of the outdoors. She received her Masters of Education from Oregon State University and taught elementary school at a magnet school in Bend, Oregon. After moving to Colorado, Lea joined Denver Academy (a private school for diverse learners), where she served as a classroom teacher, Literacy Specialist, and private tutor. Lea is a certified advanced Orton Gillingham instructor (a multi-sensory phonics technique for remedial reading instruction), and she specializes in helping children overcome reading, writing, and spelling difficulties. Outside of the classroom, Lea taps into her experience as a former pro-class mountain bike racer and a PMBIA certified instructor to teach and inspire riders as a mountain bike coach. Lea also enjoys alpine, nordic, and backcountry skiing, world travel, riding motorcycles, and scuba diving.
