Caitlin Orintas

3rd & 4th Grade Teacher

Caitlin Orintas is the third and fourth grade teacher at the Telluride Mountain School. Prior to joining the Telluride community, Caitlin spent five years teaching at The Carroll School, a school for children with language based learning disabilities in Lincoln, MA. At Carroll, Caitlin taught outdoor education for the school’s Bounders program and simultaneously completed her Masters of Education in both Elementary and Special Education at Lesley University. After her Masters program, Caitlin remained at Carroll and taught third grade. Teaching children with reading difficulties reinforced Caitlin’s commitment to delivering instruction that meets individual needs, and utilizes multi-sensory and hands on approaches.

Caitlin was an instructor for The National Outdoor Leadership School for over six years. While instructing for NOLS, Caitlin has led backpacking expeditions in northern Scandinavia as well as the Wind River Range of the Rockies. Caitlin is passionate about providing students with experiences that empower them to realize their potential as both leaders and environmental stewards.

Caitlin enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible while skiing, hiking, and rock climbing. She has enjoyed her time in Telluride since 2012 and looks forward to many more adventures teaching and with her husband and daughter.
