Angela Sprackling
Upper School Math Teacher
Angela was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, where she grew up skiing, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors. She attended the Colorado School of Mines, earning a degree in Mathematical and Computer Science and a degree in Economics. Angela was a competitive skier from age 8 to 19 in moguls and big mountain and discovered a passion for rock climbing in college.
Angela and her husband discovered Telluride in 2012 while visiting a friend and moved here full-time in 2017 to start their family. Soon after moving to the area, Angela began working and volunteering for Pinhead Institute, where she taught middle and high school after-school math, maker, and computer science classes. She also taught 7th grade Tech at Telluride Middle High School.
While Angela has always wanted to teach, she has spent the majority of the last ten years working remotely as an automation and software engineer in a variety of industries, including biotech, pharmaceutical manufacturing, utilities, remote sensing, and land visualization for the US government.
Angela believes that all students have the capability to understand and love mathematics. She hopes to inspire and support students in STEM and mathematics and leverage her experience in software development, automation engineering, and biotech to present real-life applications of mathematical concepts. She is also excited to bring her love of the outdoors to TMS's Outdoor Education and ski programs.
