Gary grew up in Ohio, where he developed his curiosity for the world and a keen interest in travel. After graduating from The Ohio State University, he and his wife indulged their wanderlust and have since lived in 10 cities spread out over three continents. At each stop, Gary has worked as a teacher and sometimes administrator, with a focus in the Humanities. Along the way, he furthered his studies at Boston University and Southern Methodist University, earning a Master's Degree in Education. One of his passions is traveling with students and providing them with the experiential learning that has been so beneficial to him over the years.

When not teaching, Gary enjoys time with his wife, hiking, skiing, reading, mountain biking, and morning cups of coffee while admiring the beautiful San Juan Mountains.
