Davis Shamburger grew up in Atlanta Georgia, the oldest of five. A Wyoming NOLS course in 2008 changed his life and set him on a path into the mountains. In 2009, he attended the Colorado College, where he played lacrosse and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in English and Film Studies in 2013. During those college years, he also began his career as a whitewater raft guide on the Salmon river in Idaho. He moved to Telluride in the fall of 2013 and has spent the last twelve years developing his skills as a river guide, mountain guide, ski technician, carpenter, tune shop manager, and free ride coach. These days, he runs the winter sports programming for the Telluride Mountain School and is a Grand Canyon river guide during the summers. When he’s not coaching or guiding, you can find him free skiing, mountain biking, kayaking, writing, or picking his guitar!
