Anna Brown

Upper School Art Teacher

Originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, Anna’s journey took her to John Brown University in Northwest Arkansas, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education while also playing college soccer and developing a love for the outdoors. After moving to Memphis, Tennessee, Anna pursued a Master's in Urban Education and spent three years teaching reading and foundational skills in public schools. After her time in the classroom, Anna took a few years off to pursue her interests in yoga, floristry, and art education, working as a certified yoga instructor and K-12 outreach art instructor for the Dixon Art Gallery and Gardens. Seeking a change from city life, Anna took a short-term position at Telluride Academy in Colorado, planning to stay for the summer. However, she quickly fell in love with the community and the mountains. Outside of the classroom you can find Anna working as a barista at coffee cowboy, backpacking, camping, and exploring the simple pleasures of being outside.
