Virginia Egger served as Telluride’s city manager before joining board member Seth Cagin to found Telluride Mountain School in January, 1999. Her two daughters, Kroger and Sophia Schwartz, were two of the school’s first students. Kroger now attends Colorado College and Sophia will be a student at Dartmouth College in the fall of 2010. Virginia has served on the boards of the Imogene Pass Run and Telluride’s MountainFilm Festival. She was the festival’s Executive Director for the 2004 festival before becoming Sun Valley, Idaho’s, city manager. An economics graduate from the University of Colorado, Virginia also attended the John F. Kennedy School of Government’s Summer Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government.
